Nokta Legend: Avoid crown caps with FerroCheck

If after waiting anxiously for Nokta Makro to launch the formidable matal detector The Legend on the market, having bought it and having read the various tips in our blog, you think that now this fantastic metal detector has nothing more to hide from you, to end the “full immersion” of suggestions that Detectorshop has decided to offer to its users,  there is one last and innovative feature: the Ferrocheck function.

Thanks to this setting, a bar chart will visually indicate the probability that the object is:

  • An object of ferrous nature, by turning on some bars on the left of the display
  • An object of a non-ferrous nature, by turning on some bars on the right of the screen
  • An object of mixed nature, with bars reported both to the left and to the right of the display.

However, for the setting to work properly, you need to correctly sweep over the object, extensively, and at the end of each pass remember to let the target out of the sensitive reach of the search coil.

Furthermore, sweeping must take place from different angles, to optimize its performance.

Despite this, to understand if the object is made of ferrous alloy, it is simply enough to see two bars lit on the left, it is therefore not necessary to turn on all of them.

This function is very useful in identifying one of the most frequent types of metal garbage: crown caps, targets typically composed of two types of metals and difficult to discriminate with VDI.

In case of detection of crown cap, the Ferrocheck’s mixed signal will give the hunter the possibility to choose whether to dig or not.

At this point, the ideas that we have shown you for the use of the Legend are varied:

All that remains is to run to sweep and discover new hidden treasures together with your Legend!
