Nokta Legend: ground balance is no longer a problem!

The brand new metal detector The Legend by Nokta Makro is fast becoming one of the benchmarks in the world of treasure hunting.

The unmistakable characteristics that are making it one of the most loved metal by seekers all over the world are unmistakable:

  • Its flexibility and power, which allow a search for comfort and dynamism
  • Its being appropriate for research on any type of terrain, without forgetting the seabed up to three meters

An extremely efficient and effective tool, so learning to use it to the fullest and in all its settings is essential for those who have waited and purchased it!

That's why we want to dedicate some articles to give you useful tips to maximize its performance, depending on the various situations.

For example, when you start sweeping, after choosing your favorite settings and adjusting the sensitivity, proceed with the ground balance.

The Legend allows you to set this procedure in 3 ways::

  • Manual
  • Semi-automatic
  • Full Automatic (tracking)

The manual system is certainly the one that requires more experience and therefore recommends to the most prepared seekers.

This method provides that the operator must, increasing or decreasing the balancing value (by pressing the appropriate buttons) while "pumping" the coil on the ground, go to hear when the sound becomes minimal. This type of balancing, although it is the most complicated to use, guarantees the best performance if well set.

Often the semi-automatic system turns out to be the most appropriate for a "budding seeker": it is implemented by holding down the appropriate button and "pumping" the plate in an area of clean soil and away from metal objects until the response sound of the ground is minimal without the need of user's changing values.

In this way, anyone who compares himself for the first time with the Nokta Makro Legend, or with any metal detector in general, will become aware of the function in question and the instrument and soon he will no longer be able to call himself a "beginner".

In addition, from time to time, you will have to repeat the balancing action in an area without metal objects, waiting for the decrease in the response sound, especially if you realize that the type of terrain is changing or if the machine tends to produce too many false signals during the search.

The tracking mode is, instead, perfect on terrains that tend to change frequently: setting this setting, on your Legend, will allow you to read the mineralization value to the detector and update it independently, without the need for any intervention.

However, the tracking mode can be inefficient when used on white and dry sea sands, due to the absence of mineralization in the sand, which could cause false readings and the consequent misbalance of the metal detector.
