The director Ferreri documents a day of exploration with our super expert

  • An enchanting expanse at the foothills of the first Romagna hills illuminated by an almost spring-like sun;
  • a super expert determined to take things seriously;
  • top-of-the-line Garrett devices for maximum performance in the search;
  • a professional videomaker capable of "capturing" images as only artists know how.

These are the ingredients, far from trivial, of the new video shot by the director and author Giuseppe Ferreri on behalf of Detectorshop

Filmed in Emilia Romagna by "Chirone Film," the 20-minute short movie documents an intense search session with our metal detecting expert and Detectorshop staff member, Leonardo Ciocca

"Armed" with:

Our Leonardo found some very interesting targets and, between sweeps, decided to give us some valuable technical tips to improve all phases of the search.

Thanks to excellent environmental conditions (great visibility, no gusts of wind, and soft ground) and leveraging the potential of an ultralight metal detector with astonishing multi-frequency performance, the Detectorshop super expert started from a slope, focusing, of course, on the valley floor, where gravity inertially pushes all objects.

With a standard multi-frequency setting (the ideal setting when the ground conditions are unknown), Leonardo, without forgetting the noble principles of environmental reclamation, immediately found:

  • a horseshoe
  • followed by a 10-lire coin in excellent condition
  • an aluminum tube for agricultural purposes
  • other ferrous waste, all properly channeled into pockets

But perhaps the most suggestive target was an old rotating band, namely the copper part that surrounded artillery shell. A military relic seemingly insignificant but, in reality, of enormous historiographical value because it confirms that, on that ground, an armed clash took place.
