New firmware 1.09 for Legend metal detectors

In recent days, Nokta Makro has made available the new update of its Legend metal detector: firmware 1.09.

Below are all the adjustments and news introduced in the new Legend Nokta Makro update::

New Iron Filter and Stability Settings

To activate the Iron Filter (IF) setting you have to set the metal detector in the multifrequency function, and after selecting the Recovery Speed setting hold down the Pinpoint button until the "IF" symbol appears on the right side of the display. The iron filter (IF) setting varies from 1 to 8 where the default value is 8 (as in Legend 1.07).

A lower IF setting will increase the likelihood that ferrous targets will be classified as non-ferrous targets and vice versa. The stability setting (st) is the "fine" tuning for the IF setting. When the IF is set to 8, the "st" setting will be inactive in PARK, FIELD, and GOLD FIELD modes.

When the IF is set to any value below 8, the "st" setting can be activated by pressing the right or left button and can be adjusted using the + and - buttons.

NB: The "st" setting in beach mode is different from this new ST setting!

The new multifrequency (M3) with PARK and FIELD mode

The new multifrequency is ideal for:

  • Moist soils
  • Wet soils
  • Conductive soils

It reduces the effect of moisture in soils that can cause false signals and weakens the response of targets that generate ID 10-11 such as carbon coke and foil.

New Pitch Tone

In Pitch audio mode, when the coil approaches the target, the audio frequency will change in proportion to the signal strength.
This setting can be made, on the Legend Nokta Makro, by setting the number of tones and is shown with a P.

New Audio Gain setting

The Audio Gain setting will amplify the volume of the response of weak targets.

In PARK, FIELD and BEACH modes, after selecting the volume, press the Pinpoint button. The letters AG will appear on the right side of the screen, so you can adjust the AG using the + and – buttons between 1-6, the default value is set to 3.

Audio Gain does NOT increase the depth but allows the metal detector to hear the weakest and deepest targets with a much stronger volume.

New Mute function

On the main screen, holding down the Frequency button will mute the metal detector, and the letters "AO" (Audio Off) will appear on the right side of the display. Instead, you can unmute by holding down the Frequency button.

Even if muted, the Nokta Legend metal detector will automatically return to custom discrimination mode (notch), terrain balancing, and settings menus.

Custom Discrimination Setting Update ("C")

When the Custom discrimination model (notch) is selected in the metal detector, the sensitivity automatically drops to 5.

However, if you use the automatic notch system, it is possible that the sensitivity will not be lowered. In this case just press the Ground Balance button once to return to the current sensitivity (CS).

New simultaneous audio

To listen to the audio simultaneously through the speaker and Bluetooth headphones, you must select the Bluetooth setting and associate the headphones with the metal detecor Legend, below, you have to press the Up button and select 2.

Update to factory defaults

After selecting the User Profile in the settings menu, press and hold the Pinpoint button until the letters Fd appear on the screen.

Note: the abbreviation Fd will disappear after 2 seconds.

What's new in the default discrimination model

In the Nokta Makro Legend, with the new firmware 1.09, the default discrimination model for PARK, FIELD and BEACH has been defined as "F" (Iron-off) and as "G" (Ground-off) in Gold Field mode.

New Mineral Bar

In the ground balance menu, press the discrimination button to activate the mineralization indicator.

The letter GI (Ground Indicator) will appear on the right side of the display. When you press the discrimination button again, the Ferro Check will work again and FC will be displayed.

Note: The right side only works in multifrequency!

Additional optimizations:

  • The setting selected in the settings menu will now flash for easier viewing.
  • The default threshold frequency level in Park, Field, and Beach modes has been changed to 10.
  • The threshold parameters have been updated in Park, Field and Beach modes.
  • The audio during ground balancing has been updated.
  • The ground balance parameters and the pinpointer function have been updated.
